EGR Value
EGR Value
Can I replace Calif. EGR value with a FED EGV without any problems? My 93' RX7 was built for CA emissions, but resides in Oregon. Mazda Comp only has FED EGR in stock and their about $60 cheaper.
No. without the position sensor on the egr valve that will plug into wiring harness on the car the Cali emissions ecu will throw a check engine light. as far as driveability problems associated with it i dont know.
have you pulled it to make sure that the valve is not stuk open or closed? also that the vac line is in good order?
there is a way to wire a relay into the system to bypass it do a search for it was not to long ago it was floating around
better question is if the M2 ecu in your car is cali or fed...

get a federal ecu and swap out the cali ecu . this will take care of the check engine lite problem. I bet the egr valve is working ok. its that cali electronic sensor giving you the problem.

When I drove the car yesterday the check light was off and stayed off for the fifteen mile ride.
I don't know if M2 reprogrammed my ecu has cailf or fed. I never thought about it until now. Does anyone know how they reprogrammed them...if they had a calif and fed program?
