Efini blank keys: Anyone else have problems making a copy?
I went to Home Depot and the dorkster said he wouldn't copy it because I didn't buy the key from them.
I went to OSH and they tried to copy it but the machine said it wasn't the correct blank. They tested one of theirs and it worked fine.
So now it's find a Mazda dealer that does original copies or maybe a locksmith.
Where did you guys have your blank Efini keys copied at at?

i went to my ace hardware and they screwed it up on the first try but it turned out they were able to put the key back in the machine and grind out a small part that they missed the first time. now they work perfect.

^ Thats why Home Depot wouldn't do it. He said they would not buy me another key if he messed up the copy. I can understand the old machines but he had a computerized one.
Anyhow I called the local Mazda dealer and the parts dept said they would copy it. If it doesn't work i'll post again. Thanks guys.

Ok, I went to the local mazda parts dept and they copied it for me for free. Now I can throw away my bent old key and use my cool Efini key. Oh and thanks to jt-imports cause I got it for $5 at the local Hters meet.

Locksmith is the only way to go.
If they give you guff about not buying the key form them then ask them "You carry THIS model of key?"
If so, I'da bought from you in the first place.
Anyhow, I had to pay like $5 to get it donw, but at least it worked and the dork at ACE didn't grind it round on the wire wheel
