ECU wiring question

So I am currently putting together a wiring harness for my FB (REW swap) and I came across something that isnt sitting right with me:

In the troubleshooting section (B-1) of the wiring diagram it reads:

Pin 1Q - Clutch switch input - *battery voltage when clutch pedal is released*

Pin 1R - Neutral switch input - *battery voltage when in gear*

This makes me think I should wire these 2 pins to a 12v ignition source, however I am questioning this.

Does it sound right that these are 12v inputs to the ecu and not a gound signal?

If someone could confirm this, or what I should do with these pins that would be awesome. Seems odd to me.

Thanks,
Alex

Well that was a stupid question. After looking at the actual wiring diagrams they are clearly switched grounds. The whole "battery voltage" term in the troubleshooting section threw me off.

However I am still unsure if I should ground those pins or just leave them alone...

I assume the clutch and neutral switch are normally open, and that I should should just leave these pins alone? That would make the most sense to me..

Stupid troubleshooting section, I think I will avoid you.
