ECU Question

Posted this in the engine management forum but haven't received any responses.

Can someone give me any info on my ECU? See original thread here: https://www.rx7club.com/engine-management-forum-37/ecu-question-what-do-i-have-516371/

Thanks!

It looks like a stock ecu to me. The daughter boards present on M2/Pettit ecus, for example, are not there.

There is no such thiing as the "smog tune". The CA ecu operates the EGR valve and expects to see it. Other than that, there is essentially no difference. You can pass cali smog just fine with a non-Cali ecu.

Hey rynberg,

Gotta q for you:

I know that my car was originally from out of state because I was originally charged that bogus smog impact fee from out of state cars.

So if the car is truly from out of state then the EGR code should never come up correct? Because mine did...

P.S. I no longer have the stock ECU

So the EGR was only a CA thing? I thought all RX-7's had that stock...

So when I sell my ECU, should I advertise it as a Cali ECU or what?
