ECU Question - What do I have?

My ECU says Remanufactured by Denso on the cover. Here's a photo:

The chip on the lower left also looks like it may have been replaced or resoldered:

Does anyone know what that chip is for? Do I have a tuned ECU? The car was not running when I bought it, so I have never even driven it. I know that it was previously a California car. Could this be a smog ECU modification, or maybe a modification to reverse the smog tune?

Any input would be VERY much appreciated.

Here's another photo:

Thanks guys!

I don't have an FD but for what it's worth, the chip that you refer to is remarkably similar (number code/label) to one removed from my FC ECU ("079753-0376") as part of an Rtek 2.0 upgrade. Perhaps the ECU had been previously chipped (not sure what's available for FD's) and then put back to stock.

Look at the part number...
"N3A3 18 881R"
The "R" at the end also denotes "reman".

The chip is just a stock chip - nothing fancy.

RTEK does not currently mess with FD ECU's.
