Ecu grounds

The pinout diagram data I have for this 96 spec loom only shows x4 pins for ground ( output) and x1 ground for ecu - I have already put x2 terminals in the output ( 4a & 4b) from my 93 spec loom and what I need to know was if it would be ok to use my terminal marked 4d which is a ground but it's an input ground, will this be a problem ?

4D is for instrument ground bias (MAP, OMP, TPS, and temperature sensors). The ECM is weighing differential between this ground and fixed positive voltage to the sensors. Any change in potential from external sources to this ground plane would adversely bias the sensor voltage. I would be cautious using it for anything else.

I need to say something , I spotted a ground input - 'twas me being a tad blind ... Ahem I'm a ***-edd :-)
And yes I have an english terminal pin out diagram for the later series loom - its not perfect as they dont describe the pins the same as the earlier series but I nearly have them all connected into my power fc - will post up pics soon of project death sled ;-)

What said here is correct for 93-95 spec PFC, however after seeing the 96 loom pins how would one make the conversion? I was unaware there was such a large change in the ECM's.

been bit way - layed and not been doing much on the death sled until last weekend, I struggled to get the last four wires ( omp ) in the right place due to the pinout not translating well enough. Luckily i managed to trace the last owner of the power fc and he chopped the loom plugs off with some wire left in it so i could trace where the four wires went into the connector. Luckily between the loom year changes they kept the same colour wiring :-)

after a big gulp of courage i hooked up the battery and turned on the ignition - the fc commander light up ! whoop! and when i did sensor check in etc it didnt show any errors, so i had a go at starting it- it fired up and ran ! still not healthy like but its a damn good start and im happy with that much as im in at the deep end on this project and after splicing two different year looms with hardly any real rx7 knowledge or clear diagrams im happy lol
