Ebay pulley questions

Going to get a rebuild this summer,
I saw a good deal on a Brand New Waterpump & Alternator pulley kit on ebay,

I know not to buy parts from ebay for the FD, but I just wanted to know if anyone has purchased a Brand New Waterpump & Alternator pulley set off ebay and if it has held up ?

the e-bay pullies & belt work fine, no need to spend alot for a brand name on these, problem is when you run this setup the belt contact on the water pump is minimal, you must run the belt very tight so pump won't slip. running the tight belt causes stress on all related parts. looks like the best way to run pullies is to install an idler pulley where air pump should be.

i dont know wat kind of deal your getting but the greddy kit you can easily get used for around $100

the idler pully will be harder to come by though. and there about $150

There is a full pulley set floating around on ebay:

Main Pulley
Water Pump
Alternator
Power Steering

I got this set and its pretty nice - and I used the make offer button and got them for $200. I think they are about $250 if you Buy it Now.

A good thing is that the main pulley replacement does not require removal of the front bolt - eliminating possible torrington bearing damage.

One problem is that the water pump WILL slip without the air pump or aftermarket idler pulley.

I bought the Pineapple Racing Idler Pulley to complete my set and it is BAD ***. Period. It tucks nicely under the water pump neck and would almost definitely fit all but the biggest single turbo application. Really really nice pulley. I think it was about $180 ish and included the belt. Of course the belt didn't fit with my underdrive pulleys but a 41" belt fits in case you go this route.

My Ebay aluminum pulleys work and look nice. I like the aluminum color better than Gready's blue also.

I just installed the complete set that sells on ebay that are manufactured by Ralco from NY.
Like stated above.. fit very nice and quality was very good.
As for the idler pulley, I purchased it from a member here (chadwick) that has a group buy going on for about $150.

I wanted ask about the Ralco pulley set I purchased I only wanted the power steering and main pulley, since I have the greddy alt and wp pulley. Now if I install the main pulley will the water pump start to slip? I am running the factory belt tensioner with no air pump, will I still need a idler pulley kit from pineapple or other?

What ever happened with the chadwick GB piece? That part looked real nice. Does the pineapple one allow for use with single turbo?

I recently spoke with Chadwick about his Pulley Kit. He said a GB was coming soon & he would PM me when the thread is up. Honestly, I like his better than the Pineapple version. I would expect it to be less expensive as well. Especially in a GB situation.
