Ebay catback

Anyone seen this ? Or has one ?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7901929242&catego ry=33630&sspagename=WDVW

Looks quite nice. I was quoted about $600 for a custom made one, which is quite expensive.

What are the downsides of this unit ?

Thx!

I personally don't like the angled exit type
but seems well made
seems also it includes the midpipe

It might be a good deal but they don't say what muffler it uses, which makes a pretty big difference. It does not look like it includes a midpipe to me. I like the "add our turbo manifold for super power part" makes the guy sound like he doesn't know what he is talking about.

It's just a way of selling.. Just the same way that all the other companies tell you to "add this" and whatnot.. or the guys that claim 800 HP on stock twins. He does know what he's doing, and the parts are very well made. It's easier to sell to people that just jump on EBAY with a CC and start buying stuff.. I'm sure that's why he referenced the manifolds.

You do have a point about the muffler though.

Yes... I saw that about manifold, but I think he has the same exhaust for FC and he uses a sort of template for his eBay ads. Probably a mistake

Why would it matter which muffler they use as long as it works and has 3" all the way through ?

Gotta find something like it in Europe. Shipping would rip me off on this.

Many of these parts are just as good if not better than originals. If you can buy 2 different parts at equal quality instaed of one, why not?

Name Brand **** is SO overrated.

I'm not obsessed with name brands. Sure, it would be nice to have APEX'i, Blitz or 5Zigen catback... but not at 3x the price.

While being at it - I might get my own exhaust fabricated

Cruiser I might be interested too in it
but, as you said, shipping cost would be very high!
I'd prefer a straight muffler, like Blitx or Racing beat, but the cost is so low that I can really think about it!!!
Another thing, i think this will be very loud...

If they cut it in half so the girth (measurements) fit the USPS requirements, then it shipping wouldn't be so bad.

On the other hand, I think I can get custom exhaust fabricated (APEX'i N1 style) for about $250.

On the other hand - is there no exhaust maker in Italy ?

We have deVito, that makes exhaust out of 0.8mm thin stainless steel plates and its almost as light as titan exhausts. But its about $600.

Not any "brand" name like Supersprint or CTSS produces it
I can recall that Remus produces one
I have a friend whose job is making high performance exhaust, but i've never asked him about one
I thought of keeping the stock because of cops
Another option is to build up one very quiet, but I still have to find a good layout of the muffler
Lightness is not my first concern, it has to be quiet!

Sounds like you want a Racing Beat exhaust.

I have remus on mine and it sucks *****. Its all rusted & stuff and I doubt it was made for RX7.
Its so quiet you couldnt believe it, too restrictive.

And also I would suggest even not good looking!
I have to find a way to make one quiet, I will talk with my friend, but with DP e MP I doubt it will be

ANd also
he works only with AISI 304 and Inconel 600, so no rust!

Which remus muffler do you have? I was considering fabricating my own exhaust and using a remus muffler... Do you have some pictures of your rusting exhaust?

I have this catback on my car. The muffler/tip is angled exit, but I think it looks great. I actually got mine for $105 plus shipping. It looks about like an n1 single. I am still running stock precat and main cat, so it is not loud at all. I give it a thumbs up. The only bad thing about it is that their packaging is pretty poor, and the tip was bent up some when it arrived. I still havent gotten it all the way back in round, if I wanted to use the silencer I could not anyway.

IF you want to see pics of it check the thread "pics of my new fd paint rims" not more than a couple of weeks old.
