Dunno if it would be a problem with the inlet/outlet nipples next to each other, instead of one at the bottom and one at the side.
It actually looks a LOT like Greddy's new "radiator breather tank" -
http://www.greddy.com/prod_rad_breather_tank.htm
Wonder if it's a knockoff. The Greddy tank has 2 nipples on the side and one on the bottom - I've thought about using it
.
With the cheapie, I'd be worried about problems cropping up down the road. Crappy welds, weak neck for the cap to screw on to (I've heard some aluminum 240sx radiators had the neck snap right off the endtank!). I've yet to be entirely happy with any of the cheap Ebay parts I've bought.

$20-$30...
I say it's worth a shot.
If the seller/vendor of those has em' around for a while I'll probably end up buying one in the next few weeks, seeing as how I'm running on the stock AST right now. :/
I'd be sure to post my opinions after handling it.

I don't think that's going to work.. If you get it you would need to put a new nipple at the bottom of the ast and then remove the upper one. Its not worth the time after you're all and done.. Better to just go support your RX7 vendors on this forum than some idiot on ebay who thinks this thing will work on rx7.

Josh,
In my opinion, I think its waste of money.. two nipples so close to each other beats the purpose of ast. I think its better to just eliminate the ast totally and put T2 neck and pressure cap.
If you look at the stock ast, one hose is at the way bottom hook up to the radiator and upper pressure cap hose is to reserve, and one in the middle to the engine. There is a reason for that..

One of the nipples on the side should be on the bottom of the tank. Personally I would just eliminate it. One less thing to clutter up the engine bay. I ran without an ast for 5 years with no problems. The only drawback is it makes it a little harder to get all the air out of the cooling system.
AST on rx7's are worthless anyway, just remove as above said. ast works only when it's the highest point, i removed with great succes, less clutter by intercooler, not really any harder to remove air then with it, if your doin it right. get some couplers for the hoses for like 5$ and be done with it

Edit: shti i'm lying, forgot you need to by the FC Neck with nipple. hehehe.. about 50$ and your done. lmao. my bad. but you'll have the trouble about a " cracking/grenading" stock plastic ast or buying a 100+ dollar metal one =-0

Easiest way to get the air out is to leave off the coolant hose on the back of the throttle body when you fill it. Squeaze the radiator hoses gently and keep filling untill coolant comes out of that hose. Then put it on. You will have to add a little coolant over the next few days.
for 30 dollars more, just go to www.rx7.com and get a petit ast for 80 bucks. Done... no worries if it will work or not, yadayadayada. Why even bother with something on your FD that you're not sure if it will work? To save 30 dollars on something that could lead to the death of your engine??? Sounds like a simple decision to me. I have a petit and it has caused me no issues.

I can appreciate the idea of not having to worry about having an AST at all, via the FC mods, etc...but I think the time/headache of not having an easy way to burp the coolant system kinda stinks. Less clutter is a benefit though.
I'm thinking for a measely $50 or so, this ebay one sounds worth it. Now IF I found a Petit one for $80, I'd do THAT, and feel more comfortable with having the NAME, but at with there no longer being any fitment issues with this Ebay one...sh*t, metal it metal, nipples are nipples, and if it does the job better than the stock one, and doesn't seem to have any weaknesses...I'm all for it.
My body's got about 117k on it, and roughly 40k on the motor, supposedly, and after it's been runnin' kinda warm/hot, the bubbling coolant sounds that I hear under the hood are definitely a wake-up call.
Oh, I just LOATHE being broke. Such is the life of an FD owner, though. :P
Paychecks...COMING SOON! Woot. lol
