Smile Easy fix for faded seat belt retainer straps

My R1 seats had pretty faded seat straps when I got them. I'm sure others have done this as well, but just wanted to share...

All you need:

Took only a minute and the seats look a lot nicer. Don't know if you would want to do this to actual seat belts - I would be worried about it getting on your clothes - but I do have an extra set of black belts that are pretty faded so maybe I could experiment with re-dying them.

Now I just need to plastic-weld repair the broken clip...

A way better way is dye, rit works well and is easy. Heat it on the stove in a pan and you can brush it in, just make sure it doesn't drip.

The sharpie is going to fade and streak.

It's just the retaining strap...not the actual belts. These seats came out of a car with no tinted windows so I think that's why they faded so bad.

The industrial sharpie is rated to 400f, by the way.

My car has tinted windows now, so it should be just fine.
