Easy fix for faded seat belt retainer straps
2 Attachment(s)
My R1 seats had pretty faded seat straps when I got them. I'm sure others have done this as well, but just wanted to share...
https://www.rx7club.com/attachment.p...1&d=1341248528 All you need: https://www.rx7club.com/attachment.p...1&d=1341248528 Took only a minute and the seats look a lot nicer. Don't know if you would want to do this to actual seat belts - I would be worried about it getting on your clothes - but I do have an extra set of black belts that are pretty faded so maybe I could experiment with re-dying them. Now I just need to plastic-weld repair the broken clip... |
:icon_tup: I love the threads on easy, cheap fixes.

It actually looks really nice. Lol. I wonder how long it will last.

..or use a magnum and get it done in half the time! ;)

Best thread in the 3rd Gen tech section this year, by far :icon_tup:

Only took me 100 hours and 50 boxes of markers to color my red interior black!

Nicely done. Just a couple of questions. Did you use vertical or horizontal strokes? Lol
|
Did you use a left hand or right hand Sharpie ??
|
Double grip for precision. paint the fence technique
|
Try black shoe polish.
|
Try "rit" clothing dye.
|
try dirty bong water
|
A way better way is dye, rit works well and is easy. Heat it on the stove in a pan and you can brush it in, just make sure it doesn't drip.
The sharpie is going to fade and streak. |

The sharpie is going to fade and streak. The industrial sharpie is rated to 400f, by the way. My car has tinted windows now, so it should be just fine. :icon_tup: |
