Earlist Build Date For Third Gen?
Earlist Build Date For Third Gen?
I had a fellow 7 owner over and he thought they didn't start production of US cars untill May or June. So I showed him my production date of Feb of 92. Do I have one of the first third gens built for the US and how do I find out?

mine is 5/92
last 4 digs 5728. They must have built quite a bit between 1/92 and 5/92.
12/91 is the earliest I have heard of.
My 93 R1 is #1442 2/92 build date.
What is the latest date a 93 was built? I've only seen ONE 93 built in 93. It had a build date of, uh I think it was 3/93. I saw a 94 with a build date of 5/93.

i looked in the mazda computer and the earliest one is in the 200150 range, build date of 12-28-91. the ones before 150 dont seem to have made it to the street, maybe crash test cars, or what have you
and I bought it 5 yrs. ago for $20K w/ 47K mi. on it. I've spent another $20K on it and now I think "what the hell have I done?"
PFS has a car built in 10/91.

World wide FD production for 1991 was 975 (at a planned production rate of 1200 cars per month). Some of these may have made it to the US. Japan sales started on December 1, 1991. I think the differences between the early Japanese cars and the early US cars was pretty minor (fifth gear ratio was different).
