Question E brake not working right?

I have tried to adjust my e break at the actual handle, but can you tighten it at your rear disks? It will barely lock up the tires???

Check your fluid level in the master cylinder. Then try replacing the rear pads. Adjust cable length only after trying the first two things.

Also Check your caliper, mine did this to find out that the lever that would lock the brakes via handle, would'nt move freely even the spring could not get it to move, so I replace the calipers, now I got super hand brakes...LOL...

Good call Kai, I forgot about that and I even had the same issue myself once.
Point is though, while sometimes it might be necessary, adjusting the cable is usually the last option.

Call Ray at MALLOY MAZDA (1-888-533-3400). Can't remember for sure, but think the rebuilt rear calipers were about $45 + core when I bought mine a couple of years ago. You could try your local MAZDA dealer and save the cost of shipping your core back. But chances are it wouldn't be any cheaper.

Cant remeber for sure but I believe it should be right around the Ebrake handle area, just take the center console off and you should see the mechanism...not 100% sure though but that is how most cars are..

If the e-brake arm at your rear caliper is seized, there's no reason to mess with the cable tension. You may end up stretching it.
Just save your money, get a rebuilt caliper and change it. It's not a complicated job. While your at it, for $15 more buy a set of replacement rear pads at your local autoparts store. That will take up any perceived slack in your e-brake handle.
