e-brake handle?

Ok I did some searching and found out that the only way to remove the stock e-brake handle you have to slice it off. That is fine. What I didn't find while searching is if anybody found one that fits aftermarket. I want a momo aluminum with leather e-brake handle (pictured below), now I have seen one person with the CF momo handle exactly like this one. My question is, will it fit? and if it doesn't, then which one will. Pics would be great.

Team Voodoo used to make a e-brake handle that fit. I believe most of the aftermarket ones are just held on by allen screws, so probably something that will fit a mid 90's Miata should work on the FD.

Jason, I had a talk w/ Dale Clark, and I believe he said the handle does indeed come off IIRC...not sure though.

funny you make this thread, I have been reading up on the Team Voodoo handles. My stocker looks kinda crappy compared to my interiors quality, so I am thinking a new black textured one would freshen it up. I know the Miata one's fit by them, but can anyone tell me how it installs? Does it just slide on and stay there? This might help sonix as well.

yeah definately. I tried to pull that thing off, no go!! I am trying to get an idea why I read that most aftermarkets don't fit. I should have thought of the Miata interchangeability. Damn is that one word, I am tired!! Well I am sure someone has done this, thats why I asked. Thanx guys. hopefully Dale will see this and let us know. Paging Mr. Clark.

someone here local had a fabric shop make a new handle cover and put it on. It looks factory! Really, really nice. I'm sure it can be done somehow.

This is a pic from the guys car at the 05' Quad cities BBQ

The interior looked show room new. He scrubbed the interior panels to get them to look new and bought new plastics in other areas. He also had a local upholstery shop do the shift boot, ebrake boot, and ebrake handle. Like I said it looked brand spanking new.

Actually, alittle bit better.

That is almost a 100% perfect stock interior. I thought it was new. Much props, it actually looked much like my FD back when I bought it out of a showroom in Lancaster, PN!!

Hi Jason,

The handle you have in the first pic is the one I installed in my car. I went with the satin finish on it.

Here are some pics of it installed on my car.

Here is the thread I did on it....

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...omo+shift+****

I have since added the miata button to the ebrake to make it match the finish.

I've never removed the handle itself - the button does screw off of there, I covered that upgrade in another writeup. I'd get a used FD parking brake lever and go to work on it - figure out how to take it apart, cut it apart, whatever.
