E-brake button part number?

E-brake button part number?
Well, me and my amazing intellect tried to remove the spin turn **** that came with the car. I had assumed it was one that was simply pressed over the existing button. It wasn't, it was threaded on. As a result, I now need to find the OEM e brake button that screws on, but I can't for the life of me find a part number for it, atkins, mazdatrix, etc, nothing. Anyone potentially have any leads on where I could start looking?

If you look real close...it’s the only photo I could find....completely plug n play. I MIGHT be able to find my black OEM one if you’re bent on the stock look.

I do recommend that Mazda chrome E-brake button. Mine has held up great in the 15 years I've had it. It really looks sharp and isn't too flashy.

I believe I unfortunately caused damage to the handle assembly. The threaded 'cable' that the spin turn **** threaded onto has popped out of place it seems, it will pull about 2-3 inches out of the front of the ebrake handle now, and the handle won't click and lock or stay up (not that it did well before, I think that turn **** damaged something when it was installed.)
I pulled off the trim, and everything looks good from the actual parking brake cable down. It looks like i'll need a new handle assembly, though.

Probably not too hard to find a good used parking brake handle. I'd message Tomsn16 and FritzFlynn and see what they have.

Post a WTB. Also double-check, I don't know if the JDM parking brake levers are the same or not. I know they mount the same.
Also with spin turn ***** sometimes people remove the spring inside the parking brake. That's the reason for the design - when you want to engage the brake, you pull the lever up while pushing it forward with your thumb. The idea is to have it easy to ****** the E-brake and not have it engage while drifting. All that said, if you don't have the spring the new button won't work as it should. Again, just worth getting the whole lever. Also it's an easy part to swap out all things considered.

I think I'm going to purchase the only assembly I can find (even though it has a spin turn ****) and simply replace it with a banzai button. Does anyone happen to know how I would go about finding a replacement spring? I'm assuming the spring would go into the handle, then the button would screw over top of it?

I have a spare MSM ebrake sitting around, just notice it has the silver button on it, any suggestion on how to remove it? Would like to try that on the FD to see how it flow with the rest of the interior, but the button is on there pretty tight, using a plier will probably damage it.

I bought the “chrome” Miata button and was disappointed to find it was plastic, that is why I decided to make aluminum buttons

I'm late to the party, but have a brand new FD JDM E-brake handle assembly chilling over here looking for a good home. Only catch--- it has the rubberized grip area that I believe came on the series 8 base model FDs over there.

Looking at the ebrake assembly in the car, those three bolts look like an absolute pain to reach, anyone have any idea how to get them, and the assembly, out? I'm hoping to just get a decently long wrench and hope they aren't torqued on there too bad, but given the clearance, I'm wondering how I'll get the new bolts IN there.
