Dyno results, car runs great!

Well I'm at the point I wanted to be for the time being, I guess. I have brought this car from bone stock with blown coolant seals to what it is now. Other than Banzai-Racing building my motor, my brother is the only person to modify the car. With help from Morgan, the kid that owns the local shop, he also tuned the car. It wasn't from scratch and we still need to datalog some street driving and highway pulls. We started with a map that Jason sent. It doesn't spool as fast as I thought but it is one hell of a car to drive around. I have to go to dinner so I'm gonna post up as is and I'll just check to see what you guy's have to say.

Something I was wondering, is if there really is a difference of 10% or so between dynapack and dynojet? If so then this should be right around the norm, right?

RESULTS: 374whp 304ft/lbs tq

15 psi boost (according to graph)? That's some good power out of the twins!! Funny your torque curve doesn't look like a sequential pattern... What AFR and timing were you at and what kind of gas? I didn't read your whole build thread but sounds like you did things right, congrats and enjoy the ride

Is your boost fluctuating? See if you can get a graph with boost and A/F on it.

That's about what I put on my stock non seq twins....A GT35R should be a tab bit higher then that. Have it tuned by someone else.

I'm not gonna be getting on a dyno again anytime soon, so this is my only sheet for now. My brother and the guy running the dyno turned the AEM Tru Boost off and couldn't figure out how to get it back on, I know it's extremely easy and I got it working now, so he hooked up one of his MBC for the tune. My A/F is 11.5 at WOT. I'm not sure about the boost fluctuating, I didn't have anything to do with the tuning. I was wondering why it looks like that, it would make sense. Why would it do that?

Waachback, I thought it's a little low as well. That's why I'm wondering if there is a 10% difference between the dyno's as some people say or is my tune that far off.

Regardless the A/F is 11.5 with a knock of 6 at WOT and runs like a champ AND is fun as hell to drive. My brother is gonna find out some more on tuning and the car will only grow from what is. Well this is the most positive way to look at it. I'm happy as long as it runs good AND strong.

So you know, I went to this from a sing overhead cam 1.6L honda, lol!

93octane

A/F's and knock are right on the money. You could probably go a tad bit leaner if you wanted to though.

How's your timing look?

Subscribe to chucks notes and read the thread I posted in the A/I section.

Oh and I started with a D16 moved to a B16 then to the rotary. Been here 6 years now and never going back!

A/I is my next step. I'm happy to keep the A/R where it is, for peace of mind. You have to also remember that this is my brother and I's introduction to rotaries and that we did all this from the ground up to a stock car and all at once! Could a professional or experienced rotor head done it better, probably. But I think it's not half bad for a couple of 's .

I have to say though, I LOVE THIS CAR! I'm so glad that I went this direction. I don't think I could be as happy with any honda I would have possibly ended up with. I love almost everything about this car, the lid on the drivers side door broke.
My fiances brother and his friend built an Integra with a K series fully built bored and stroked to a 2.5L that has a GT4088 on it, apparently on c116 and a lot of boost it'll make like "800whp" and another friend has a '93 hatch 1.8L with a modified GT35R that makes 738whp on the same dyno I used. They're cars are cool and all but to me, they don't touch a well modded RX7.

That's a dynapack, and in my experience they do indeed read a bit lower than dynojets.

I'd be willing to bet that if you strapped the car to the 'standard' (dynojet) you'd make right around the standard 400 rwhp at 15 psi that most T4 35R cars do.

You'll probably like this quote, I love it. Tell it to your bro in law. Hah!

"Having a 9 second Honda is like coming out of the closet, at first you surprise all your friends, but in the end you're still gay."

If your RX7 is running good then dont mess with it. Just enjoy it. Dont worry about the HP number as you will see different numbers from one dyno to another.

I could not agree with this statement more. Enjoy!!!! Don't start chasing the numbers.....

Good job on the build.
