Dual Oil Cooler set up

Does anyone have any opinions or recomendations on the dual oil cooler kit from Gotham Racing or RX7Store? I need to replace the single. Thanks.

dude build your own, you can get awesome oil coolers from earl's for about 150 each and all you will need is a shop to make mounting brackets and get bad *** lines which should cost around 100-150. thats what im doing

What are your oil temps currently? If you don't know, your first modification before upgraded oil cooler(s) should be an oil temp sensor.

NOT. Full dual oil cooler threads are available for your reading pleasure.....and you will find out it costs a lot more than that. You'll also need a t-stat BTW.

Its the damm fittings that cost so much. I have see a thread with the parts list and prices from Summit, and its just under $650

It may be easier to just order a kit, but then again I am lazy

As hard as it may be for some to believe, not everyone has tons of free hours available just to save a few bucks. There's not much mark-up at all in these kits, and you know they're going to fit and work.

Exactly!

Personally, I would not buy a kit that uses 19-row oil coolers and doesn't provide ducting. IMO, this will not provide better performance than the stock dual coolers. 25-row coolers are big enough to where I think ducting starts to become not important.

However, it does not include the custom brackets needed.

gotham racing sells the brackets for $75 so that comes out to 725-750 which is about the same price as gotham its just i think the earls are better than the ones that they use

To everyone, thanks for your replys. The reasons that I am considering replacing the stock oil cooler, is that it looks to be in bad shape. The car is currently undergoing a complete engine rebuild and single turbo conversion and while this is being done, I would like to fix any other issues. Thanks again.

I have a stock motor, going stock boost with caback, stock intake, DP, koyo...basically just reliability on my touring...is a dual oil cooler setup really necessary? No racing, just pleasure driving at this point...

Not really. People should be monitoring their oil temps before even considering this upgrade.....

how about with a 99spec bumper? any prefabbed kits like the old CWR ones that have 99 spec ducts??
