Dual air filters vs. single

I am working on a custom intake setup. I have fabed some intake hardpipes and am contemplating a filter setup. Basically this will be similar to the Pettit system but at a fraction of the cost. My question is, is it more beneficial to run 2 small filters (like the Pettit) or 1 large filter that incorporates 2 inlets I have searched the K&N catalog and found a dual inlet filter that will work. Anyone have any ideas?

I doubt it would really matter much. I would probably just do 2 smaller ones because that's what everyone does. Also, maybe if there is only one filter, the 2 turbos will be "fighting" over the air that is in there, it's a long shot but an idea.

Jezz dude, it's just there to filter the air as it goes into the car. Do you really think its going to matter?

it wouldent really matter, 2 might be better as far as space goes, but then again thats 2 filters to change

All that matters if you have sufficient filter surface area. You'll be fine either way.

I am probably going to go with 2 filters just for the simple fact that I eventually plan on going with a fmic and being able to move the filters or shorten pipes would be alot simpler. I didnt really thing it would matter 1 vs. 2 because thats how the stock box is setup, but just wanted to see if anyone else had any input or thought of anything I haven't. I will get some pics posted when complete. I just need to order filters now.

i dont think it matters, either with a single or dual filters, there are separate piping that go to both turbos, i prefer one big single filter like i have (blitz sus) cause its just one entrance..

but mostly i think its for cosmetic and space issues..

If you use two of the same only one will really be on line. Sure the secondary turbo uses it but compared to the primary theres a big gap in usage. My view is the one larger may be a better match with this ratio. Any way you look at it theres just not enough cold air for any intake, unless you have a hood scoop etc.
