Cool, do the lines remain under car or do they work it's way up to the manifold (or are they hardlines by then)? I haven't messed with this stuff before but it feels like the right time to do it.

The hard lines only go up to the firewall. You will see them by the oil filter. From there its a rubber hose to the rails.
