Dropped my Coolant Cap Help!

Just checking the levels and I set the cap down by the air box. It slid under the front plastic cover and I heard it metal to metal fall down. I'm guessing it is either on the radiator or a fan. So I don't want to risk the fan throwing it through something. Is there an easy way to get at the backside of the radiator to find it. I tried to squeeze my hand
down by the left fan but no luck.

Thoughts?

It may be resting on the frame extension under the air box. +1 on the magnetic pickup tool.

If you can't get it out with that, you may just have to start removing stuff until you can see it.

Didn't find it on the air box frame.

If it fell down between the fan and radiator, would it go out the bottom to the plastic "guard" or does the fan fram have a ridge around the bottom that would catch it?

It would probably be trapped by the fan frame - it more or less seals to the rad so that the fans will draw air through the rad.

OK, so if I went under and dropped the plastic guard down, would the fan guard bottom be exposed or are there other things in the way?

Thanks

The rad is below the guard, so you probably would need to remove stuff from the top to see what is in the fan area. However, there is still a chance that it made it onto the undertray, so pulling it off would be good anyway.

The undertray isn't hard to remove. I would do that after fishing around with an extending magnet pen.

Pull the airbox out - you can probabably get it with that giant joker out of the way.
