Drivers door STUCK CLOSED! Need help asap

Ok, so my I broke my drivers exterior handle one morning when it was frozen. Thanks Mazda for making a quality part there!

I've been opening my door from the inside passenger side for about 2 weeks now waiting for a new handle to come in.

Today, it stopped opening from the inside as well, I have keyless entry and its still unlocking and locking the passenger side as well as the drivers side. But I can't open the door, whether or not when I'm pulling on the inside handle or the metal rod that connects to the exterior handle. I took off the exterior handle to try and pull on the metal rod and it still doesn't work.

I can't even take off the door panel because I can't open the door.

Please, I need help ASAP!!!

You will have to remove the cup that goes down in and around the inside door handle. It is held in with one screw hidden under a tab. Once the screw is removed you can lift the cup straight up. You should then have a little bit of access to the inside door handle. You can possibly take some needle nose pliers and try to grab the cable to open the door. Worth a shot at least.

I'll try that tomorrow, that cable is still connected to the door handles and it's still operative but it doesn't open the door, I don't know what the lock mechanism looks like that actually connects to the door and car.

When I pull the interior handle, the metal cable on the exterior still moves.

I'm going to unload WD-40 down my door and where the latch is. I'll try your idea too with pliers. maybe I can reach it from the exterior if I stick my arm down it. As long as I get the door open ONCE, I can take off the inside panel and mess with it.

The metal rod that connects to the outside handle should push down not pull up. I'm assuming you tried it but I know when I tried mine I was trying to pull it up and it wouldn't budge.

I wouldn't recommend the wd40, itll just be a mess when you do get it open.
it doesnt sound like a seized latch issue, sounds like its physically broken or unhooked.

Well, I was able to pry some of the door panel to see down at the lock mechanism.

Everything is still moving from the cable but it's just not opening/unlocking the door.

I cannot see the part that's broken. It's the actual latch that latches on the car/door.

Wtf do I do from here?

Pull back the exterior window trim on the door by the door handle(long black piece that spans the entire length of the window). Find the gold rod and use a pair of needle nose pliers to grab it and force it down. The door should pop right open. I would expect to apply a good bit of pressure for the door to open.

I'd take apart the door that actually works... that way you'll be able to see exactly how everything is laid out and you should be able to tell what needs to be done

I tried all of these, nothing worked. I completely gave up, I dropped it off at a shop today and he said he should be able to to get it open.

I'll see tomorrow.
