drive shaft loose in tailhousing:
rear of the transmission has no mount, rather it bolts to a frame that extends back to the differential which connect the two. If your tranny is moving around alot, it can be engine mounts, a crack or break of the connector frame (called power plant frame, or PPF), or the differential bushings. Or all three
thanks spurvo, maybe i need to explain the problem a little better. where the driveshaft slides into the rear of the transmission (tailhousing), it feels loose. mazda does not supply a bushing alone, you must buy a new tailhousing.
has anyone run into this problem before? and what did you do about it?

it's not leaking, and i can't say i can feel it wobbling. but after replacing rear bushings, diff mount, and checking
PPF for cracks it's very audible with the car on stands, releasing the clutch with the engine running. you can feel it by moving the driveshaft up and down, the splines are all good.

I don't remember mine being loose but after I put in a new seal, my tranny started leaking. I've replaced the rear tranny seal twice now and I still have a small drip from the input shaft.
