drive! I bought mine in Colorado and drove it to North Carolina with a side trip to yellow stone by way of jackson hole. It was roughly 3000 miles too and my wife and i had a blast! So I say go for it!

FD and long trips

My first and third FD's were trailered back home by me and my truck (under 400 mile trips) but my second FD I bought off of EBAY 13.7 K miles for 14K$ it was well worth the flight out there. I Flew from Pittsburgh to Rapid city SD saw the car and it was perfect like the owner said. I drove it to MT Rushmore and back 20 miles each way and then bought it. Had the oil changed and drove back to Pittsburgh in 19 hours (just over 1500 miles. The R1 suspension was a bit much on some choppy parts of I90 but the trip was fast and fun. I enjoy shorter trips now that the car is modded. 3000 miles is double though and I would ship it if possible or trailor it yourself with a 1 way rental...
