Drifting your FD!!!

Has anyone try drifting in their FD?
I try and it was crazy as hell!!! Rain is better. Highly skilled of counter steering and heel to toe are needed!! We took some cone from a construction site last week and place it at my work place and drift threw and around the cones!!! We try to make a track to look like the D1 track!!! We even race drifting-twin drift, I drift race with my cousins and friends, S14, S13, Haichi Roku, and WRX.
I have it on video.!! It looks okay but the drift isn't near like how the japanese are doing!! Our distance was not close like the japen. but we did manage to go sideways though!!
but it was cool. as soon as I get it posted I will show to you guys the video in here!!

Anyways enough of my story-

Any of you guys know where they held drift events where you actually get to drift your car??
Any near Sacramento , or the bay area, CALIFORNIA?
Plus when and where?
Thanks

i get sideways when i can, you dont really need to heel toe if you knwo what your doing

rain=more slippery, you can go much faster in the dry!

I meant heel to toe are use by experts!

Have you try drifting in gravel?? I drift with my bro s14 on gravel and get sideways very easy!!!
Rain is exactly like gravel!!

So Rain=Gravel= SIDEWAYS EASIER

I have tried a couple of times in my seven, once too fast on an off camber uphill corner (way stupid by all means) I spun and ended up turned around and half on a curb. It managed to straighten my alignment a little, but no real damage otherwise. I haven't done much since then. When I get my car up here (UC Davis) next fall, I would be up for some drifting in or around Sac, plus maybe some other fun, I'll need to learn the area, as I grew up about 500 miles south and spent my cruising time in and around Ontario.

umm.
I know it's slow, we drift on drive pavement only going 40-60 MPH!!
What I'm trying to explain is that in rain you can still go sideways too!!! And save lots of tires!!! That is if U+Drift=know what you doing!

I admit it looks cool but drifting in general = teh NAyg, nailing the apex through a corner on the track is where it's at. IMO

So you like drifting too!
I think drifting is coming up!
I'm a big fan of Youchi White Apex RX7. I think he can handle his FD very well.
I know alot of place in sac. Meaning some other fun! BIG PARKING LOT! My work place has a big parking lot! If you want we can even go sideways some other day!

Yeah, I used to think so, but I'm intrigued at the amount skill pro drifters need to have total control over their cars. I'd bet they're all road racers, and decided to drift, just cuz it's so much fun. I plan to try drifting myself...first in the rain, to save my tires...and yeah I don't mind slow motion for awhile, until I master drifting an FD3S Rx7 in the wet LOL

Ernie Fixmer is D1 USA Pro and he never did road racing, niether did alot of the other U.S. guys, So road racing experience is not needed. Drift King and Orido Both drive in JGTC and Orido just won in the GT500 Denso Sard Supra. So those guys are just good drivers period.

Drifting in the dry is really fun, we can do it in fd's all the time, rain is my favorite though, its so easy to get sideways, you can slide alot further and you can go alot slower and you save tires. If you drift in the dry make sure you have a lot of runoff, my friends FD has hit a few curbs.

You sound like a wannabe trackwhore in the making.

Focusing one's efforts entirely on drifting while ignoring the "grip" aspects and vice-verse is close-minded. I highly suggest you observe some serious rally level drivers' capabilities to see a level of drivers who are capable of incredible car control AND driving the line MOST proper for the conditions and surface at hand.

Inertia is inertia. The above level of drivers have a highly experienced grasp of when to make the best use of dynamic or static cF of the tires and chassis balance given the intertia and line positioning they must make use of at the time.

It's not a biased perspective either as I drive the line much more than I attempt to drift.

It sounds like it will be lots of fun, now I need to get that motor rebuild going, so the seven will be perfectly healthy for when I get it up there. Having access to a big parking lot must be great, I can't wait to get my car ready and have it with me all the time (freshmen can't get parking passes at UCD).

Alot of JGTC drivers drift. They say they like it because it takes skill, isn't competitive, and is fun to do.

Personally, if i had a FD i wouldn't try drifting it. It's too expensive and parts are costly. I'd get a 240sx or something that isn't to expensive to fix up.

I can't afford to wreck my car. That's why i'm a drifting enthusist and not a drifter

I never have intention and admired for front wheel drive cars= civics, integra, and newer cars that are front wheel drive!!!

I mean everyone could do drag racing, if you know how to shift then you can drag race...

But drifting requires more skills. A rear wheel drive car can DRIFT and still DRAG-- MAKE IT GO FAST!!

Front wheel drive can't
