Draining Fuel Tank??

How the hell do I drain the fuel tank? Is there some kind of drain plug at the bottom or do I have to use some kind of pump to get the fuel out?

Please any feedback would help

Thanks

there is a plug...sometimes it is covered by a bunch of undercoating material...Just look for it--if you still can't find it check the FSM and it should tell u the location of the plug!

there is a plug, iirc it is a 12mm 6 point. Depending on how much fuel you have left and what you are using to catch it have a roll of paper towels and a fire extinguisher (just incase) at the ready. The plug is located in the center of the tank slightly towards the front of the car.

Thanks,

Robert

Back from the Dead LOL.
Car has 1/2 tank of fuel and has been sitting for a couple years. I will be draining it to install my Walbro but any ideas on how to clean the fuel tank or do I just drain it and fill her back up when done with installing the pump?

Anyone have a link with pictures on how to install a Walbro pump. I have the Manual but still dont understand it.

I would simply drain it and leave a gallon or two. Then when you put in a fresh tank it should be fine.

Thanks a bunch, as for installing the walbro I found some info with pics. I just wanted to make sure if I had to drop the tank to install the pump but I can do it with the tank on the car.

Its larger. Maybe 14 or 17mm I forget. Make sure you replace the crush washer or it will be likely to leak. I drain these all the time as many customers have their cars sit for some time after they blow while they decide what to do with them.
