Downpipe and such...

Hey guys I was wondering.... what is the best downpipe to get on our car? Currently I have Rotary Extreme V-Mount setup, Apexi GT SPec Exhaust, HKS RS intakes, and PFC. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how much HP I should have at the wheels and how much i'll have after the downpipe. Thanks

Oh, and if I should get a boost controller, which one should I get?

Yeah the PFC has a solenoid that you can buy the hooks into the PFC, its the same one that comes with the AVC-R.
Apex Part # 415-A003 Boost Control Kit Boost control + 2.0 kg/cm^2 MAP sensor

As for a downpipe, any name brand will do. Your Hp numbers will be around 320rwhp, after a downpipe, but get a midpipe also.

I'm just shocked you're that far along in mods and you still have the precat...

You don't need to buy anything extra to control boost with the PFC, it uses the stock solenoids! If they are in good shape, the PFC should control boost ok. An aftermarket EBC is better, such as the Profec Type-S. I think I've typed the above lines at least 10-15 times in different threads. Probably more.

How about running a search on downpipes, it's been discussed a billion times. Some people feel comfortable with buying cheap **** off of ebay that requires "finessing" to install, and others pay a little more to buy a quality made pipe that fits perfectly and is made by a long term FD vendor. Just get one from an American shop, getting a "JDM" market one is less than pointless.

See, the problem with posting threads like this instead of using the search function these days, is that you will get a bunch of crap posts by people who don't have a clue about what they're talking about, if they even own an FD....

is it safe to install a downpipe and not have the PFC tuned right after?

Here's a good page for info on downpipes. Hope it helps a little.

Read that and if you need more info, just search on the forum.
