Door Handle Keyhole and Ignition Switch Light

So I have been trying to figure this out for about a year now online but never actually pursued anything because I don't know where to start. It is very very annoying.

Both the Door Handle Keyhole and Ignition Switch lights do not work. I thought it might be because the bulbs burnt out but I to find a damn bulb for the ignition I have to get it from mazda because autozone doesn't carry them. Since both are out though, I figured it might be some larger electrical problem. I'm guessing CPU2? Isn't that the controller for the stock security system? Well I bypassed that...Do you think I need to fix that to get these little lights to work?

BTW, my rear cargo light doesn't work either. What would be wrong with my CPU2? Just old?

getting to the light for the ignition is easy. start with that, just see if its burned out first. if not then look elsewhere.

I have been working on this problem and have found no answers yet.
I will be heading to Pettit and ask Cam if he has an answer.

First of all...as far as the keyhole light goes, there are about sixteen different threads on replacing it. That bulb is available thru Radio Shack as well as other electronics stores. I've done this replacement myself and created a thread on it years ago. I have no experience with replacing the ignition switch light. Both lights come on when the driver's door handle is lifted, so you may be on to something with your CPU question, especially since you 'bypassed' the stock security system if I read your post correctly.

Please keep us posted with what you find out.

I have the same problem as well, I killed my cpu2 soldering a new bulb for the keyhole light. Now my hatch light, ignition light and keyhole light dont work.

I purchased a cpu2 last year, but just havent had a chance to install it. Mostly because I have been too busy with other things on the car. Once I get it installed I will let you guys know if it worked or not.
