door handle alternative?

my retarded door handle has broken i know the replacement would cost bout 150 or 110 depending where i order them from .. anyways was wondering if there is an alternative to the oem ones .. the oem ones seem to be made of fiberglass or whatever it is .. but looks like theres potential for it breaking again later down the road .. anyone know any alternative handles?

If you have the cash - I've seen a couple of FDs that have removed the handles altogether - moulded that area into the bodywork, then used a remote opening system. Looks good (some would call 'rice')

Not something I'd consider myself, but if you really hate the handles...

FEED makes CF look a like handles. You can get them from jt-imports.

I doubt it. The FEED ones are the only replacements I know of.

ahem, as an owner of a set of FEED door handles - they are actually very, very nice (subjective, of course) - if anything, the finish is far nicer/smoother than the stock plastic

Amemiya also make a similar set - but I'd be the first to say both sets are overpriced for what they are.

Whatever you do, keep the lock mechanism well lubricated. Repeat failures suck.

What door handles are you talking about? I got the impression he meant the interior passenger handle. If that is the case take it apart and rebuild it with some kind of epoxy.

Nah, he means the exterior handle.

I have seen some really rice handles for our car. They aren't handles at all. It is a carbon fiber or aluminum piece that you glue onto the outside to give the impression it is really carbon fiber. But really it is just an overlay on the existing handle.

Now that is rice! :O

I think Mark is busy with other stuff and is no longer working on CF projects for the time being.

Here are the overlays...
