Dog vs. FD (pics)
Dog - 1
FD - 0
so Im driving about 40 MPH earlier today coming over a blind corner/hill and a damn dog ran out in front of me. I had enough time to slow down to about 30 MPH before I hit it dead on. the dog is ok...sorta.
I guess its time for a 99 spec front end now.
pics arent great...stupid camera phone.

I had a dog related accident 2 days after I got the car. My car was in the shop for 8months and the final bill was $4500 although there was no visible damage to the front of the car (but to the AC condenser - ouch $1100, radiator, swaybar mounts, oil pan, underpan belly, front lip, ...). But the dog was a size of a bear and was already dead lying on the road. It was night and I couldnt see it with oncoming traffic and due to superb (not) FD lights. Dog was so big that car actually went airborne
Be careful.

I like how it is always a "dog" that ran out.. maybe everyone means a "dogWOOD"...
Just playin, It looks to be only paint yes? Not enough of a reason to booger the front end up with a ugly plate mount yet..just respray teh bumper if it is just the skin.IMO of course

it was a white lab...about 60-70 lbs. I was suprised to find no real structural damage...just missing paint. The dog pretty much bounced a good 20-30 feet off of my car. In the last pic, you can see hair stuck on the bumper. one of the owners friends came and took the dog to the vet and the owners were going to meet him there. I should have followed them to the vet and got them to pay me. I think we have a leash law here...but not 100% sure. I of course just went on my way...stupid me. the front bumper needed to be painted anyways (some rock chips).

it is only paint. however, the bumper is on its last legs. I was thinking of going 99 spec anyways.

Yeah, really just looks like paint damage. You hit it square on, and the crash bar absorbed the impact. At least that's what it looks like from the pics!

ya, pictures do suck...shitty camera phone. only the bumper was touched, and its just paint...it may have weakened the bumper but at least it didnt hit anything else. no engine bay damage either.
