Wow I thought 2 gauges was pushing it, wouldn't a third one be too high up for practical use? If you want 3 you should get the center speaker gauge pod, looks much better than a tacky A-pillar pod anyway

Tell that to me after you see mine.

The triple covers the whole thing, not like the dual, which looks crappy IMO and only comes up half way. Plus, I drilled in such a way to better hide the retaining tabs.

Looks good. I'll get pics back up once my server is up again.

They changed their site around, but it's P/N 22675

Just ordered a dual from summit, currently on backorder. Looked into the triple as well, which last time I checked was also on backorder.

Dunno if it applies to 3rd gens, but I've driven an FC with 3 pods on the A-pillar. The 3rd pod was a BIG sight obstruction - I wouldn't recommend it. Especially since you can get the pods that replace the center speaker, and they have 3 gauge mounts.

Eh, Ive always loved the look of the tripple gauge pod, plus Id like to retain the center speaker.

I ordered the 3-gauge pod from the link provided on the first response, and I ordered 3 gauges.

Autometer boost, water temp, and oil temp.

Im hopin the fact that autometer is 1/3 the price of apexi/blitz gauges doesnt mean its 1/3 the quality too....heh. Cant afford 3 of the others right now.

Ive got the 3 guage pod and I use the 3rd one for something that maybe you only have to look at every once in a while. I dont feel there is any sight obstruction in mine.

Well, it kind of does . Some people like Autometer, but I have a feeling that 90% of them have never handled and installed a good Japanese gauge. The build quality is WORLDS better.

But, you have to get Autometer first, then move up - that's the only way to learn .

BTW, Greddy 52mm temp gauges (oil or water temp) are $100 each, and the 52mm boost gauge is $123. http://www.gruppe-s.com - GREAT prices on gauges there.

But, Autometer's gauge pods are of decent quality.

I have heard that the lower level autometer gauges bounce like a son of a bitch when you drive. I had one of their actual reps hint at that when I talked with them before I ordered my new gauges.
I would personally avoid them, or ask their sales rep about which models are their higher levels.

i have a triple pod a pillar too... although i never installed it yet, i placed my gauge up there a little above my dual pod to see what it will look like and i have no prob seeing it. im a bit tall too, 5'10 and it gave me no problems..ill be putting my water temp gauge up there so at least if i cant stare at it, i can get a quick glance at it every so often since my gauge is digital..

I bought mine from ebay. I have a dual on the car now. I haven't install it yet.
I will put boost first, water temp second, and A/F last and highest.
I don't look at the A/F that often it was more for watching my mix with each mod.

I would go with FLYRX7's guage pod it looks great.
Very high quality. It beats the cheap A pillar pods that you can get. You do pay more for his guge pod but it is well worth it.

You can see both the A-pillar and Frank's center speaker pods here...

They light up, and with the red condom that comes with it , you can make it look like the stock guages. Mine doesnt bounce at all either.

I used to have an Autometer boost gauge, and it didn't light up per say. On the inside anterior surface of the gauge, there was obviously a light source, and it just projected some light to the area of the gauge right under it, and a bit further. Think of it kind of like shining a tiny flashlight onto a very small portion of a large paper. One area gets lit very well, and the rest kind of get a bit of illumination.

The Defi gauges pictured above have the light source on the posterior surface of the gauge, and the marks & numbers on the gauge are translucent, so pretty much all areas of the gauge light up equally, and in a fashion that's very visible.

That's not to say Fatman's gauge isn't better...I'm just speaking about the specific gauge that came w/ my car when I bought it. Dunno what level of Autometer gauges it was, but illumination sucked lol. It was red tho
