I do agree with BDC here that its pushing the limits @ 18 psi. With 94 octane i would feel 11.5 @ 15 psi is about as far as i would go. then probably taper to 11.1-11.2 @ 18 psi. But i don't know the details of thewird's setup. With lower compression rotors for instance you could run higher AFR's at a given boost level.

On the other hand some people manage to live on the edge for years without anything going wrong. While other people can go through several motors while being extra careful.

Now imagine the extra ponies the nice cool weather brings to life, coupled with the momentary lag I have with my automatic tranny. About the time the car decides to go...it REALLY goes! Unpredictable, sometimes. Not for the uneducated.

I'm seeing 11.7 tonight (13-14 degrees advance)....it pulls hard!

comment from BDC: "Colder weather is a blessing. Everything is more efficient -- oil and water temps lower, air charge temps lower, air compressor more efficient, exhaust temps lower, engine bay temps, etc"

The Dyno slip is showing that the AFR goes as high as 11.1-11.2 at 7K RPMS and I am pushing 13psi on the stock turbos Is this considered rich or just conservative? I have read a number of posts (and discussed this with the folks at kantuning) and it seems to be solid, with the idea that I should back off the bost to about 12.5 to ehance the life of the stock turbos.

BTW, I drove it on thanksgiving as well in the cool Chicago air, and it pulled like an SOB, but the boost also spike to 13.5. Needless to say the car is parked now that snow is on the ground, but should I be concerned?
Your AFRs look good. What peak timing are you running at that boost level (leading and split)? Those two "tunable" factors (timing, fueling) combined with quality of fuel and the temperature of the air going into your motor (not to mention the temperature of every other fluid... water, fuel, oil... keep it cool!) will be the driving factors in the safety and power production of your engine. I've been running 11-13 psi in the 10.5-11.5 range on stock turbos with 13 leading timing and 12 split (peak torque) on 91 octane for the last year, about 10k miles on this tune. Had it on a road course for an entire day once and drag strip trip once (see videos in my sig)... and tons of high power freeway pulls. No problems with blowing stuff up so far. I've had boost spikes to 16 psi (car really hauls *** then!) but that part of my PFC map dumps extra fuel and pulls timing..

One other thing: what bracket is that you have holding your AST? It looks a lot nicer than my home depot version Your car is so clean, keep it that way!

I don't know why this 'rule' is making a comeback - it has long been discounted.
I'm not really sweating it because my car is nearly stock... but i thought that since you can have more volume of air at the same pressure (due to a freely flowing intake or exhaust) that the 10 psi rule only worked to a certain extent.

My understanding is that just because your boost gauge reads 10psi doesn't mean that there is the same amount of air flowing as a showroom stock FD. Pressure and flow are not always directly proportional.

That is true. More air will be consumed by a modified engine at the same 10 psi. But the stock maps are so rich that it would be pretty much impossible to get enough air into the engine that it would run lean at 10 psi. Whats dangerous is exceeding the 10 psi and hitting fuel cut

yesterday I was at -3C. It was awesome. 10psi felt like 15psi when AIT are are 30C.

You mean like water temp? 70-80C. My AIT sensor is relocated to the piping on my Blitz FMIC too.
