Does anybody have a problem with this?

After it rains or I wash my FD, a few hours later I open the trunk and water gushes from each side of the hatch-- right down into the interior or the trunk. Does anybody else have this problem? What should I do?

Thanks,

Wolf50000

Do you have holes on the hatch where a spoiler used to reside?

It's coming from under the window molding. Mine does it too...

Yep yep!!! Both the winged and unwinged versions have this problem. I agree that it's the window moldings. When i repaint mine I'll see if different molding makes a change! (It'll be a while though....2months or so)

It's probably not because of your moulding. It's more likely because your drains are plugged up with fir/pine needles, or such. The hatch rail are actually gutters and the water flows out somewhere around the tail lights I believe. Remove the plastic cover at each rear corner of the gutter rail (held in by 2-3 screws), and clean out the crap that's preventing the water from draining.

EDIT:
Oops, I think I mis-read the post. Sorry!

It's not the molding. It's either the window seal itself or you have rust through in the molding track that water is gettin through. I bought a hatch that was in better shape but after I pulled the molding off I can see where the rusted area could be fixed and then resealed when the molding is reinstalled. I'm pretty sure you'll have to remove the molding to find the problem. Jack

What I meant was it's water coming from the molding.. When I pop the trunk, the water runs out of the window molding then drips into the trunk..

Well whatever it is, it's pretty annoying!

Yep, when the water leakes into the passenger area it collects in the lowest part of the trim. If you pull the trim (inside the trunk area) you will more than likely find rust or atleast a water line around your rear wiper motor if you have one. If you don't the water collects in the depression for the wiper motor nd when you open the hatch water pours out of both sides of the window trim onto the little hatch cover for the jack and tools and if you open it all the way it goes into the rear compartment bins. Does this sound like problem ????
