Does the airpump have to come off to change the thermostat?
I was reading through Robinette's site and it says that the airpump has to be removed in order to change the thermostat...total work hours of about 2 hrs. I read someone else's post here about it being a 5-10 min job, does the air pump really have to come off? Also can I do the thermostat replacement without draining the coolant first...i don't want any spillage.

You'll spill a little bit, but it's not a lot since the t-stat's higher than the radiator.
I don't remember how much in the way the air pump gets...try without it!...only waste time, not money

Yea I believe that I just loosened the tensioner and let the belt drop off the pulley. It probably could be done with it still on but it would be a pain. I know most people said that they drained the coolant but I didn't and I lost just a tad of coolant. It didn't take long but just make sure the engine is cool before doing it. LOL
