And Boost,

I'm happy to see the avatar back. I was gonna use it myself but it would be too "Rikki" to steal it from you.

BTW don't try flaming my grammar. It was purposely done.

Justin,

I knew you'd love the cat. Big step over stock. I go and mispell stereotyping and you have to quote me before I catch the typo. Damn, that sucks. I just wanted to show him most of us aren't a bunch dumb rednecks. But start picking on my southern qualities and I'll get upset rather quickly.

twstd rx, I live in the Confederate of Virginia so of course I'm considered a southerner.

In the end, it's just a Farking car.

Now looka here, boy,

Livin here and bein on uh us ain't de same. Now go'on back up ar where ya belong.

You wanna talk about being southern? My cat's name is Mosby, as in Confederate Col. John Singleton Mosby. My girlfriend is a Confederate history buff. I can charm the panties off the finest southern belle, sit in the bar and drink buds all night long with the good 'ol boys and I do just fine at formal affairs as well. A true southerner is a well rounded individual who knows how to adapt to all occasions.

Disclaimer: IT'S JUST A FOCKING JOKE!

Off Topic completely here-A little American History:

Notherners: The pilgrims that came over in the 1600's. They came from English stock. They're considered to be Yankees. As the stereotype goes, they're generally smart, educated, and politically powerful. To wit, look at the Bush dynasty.

The Southerners:
Most were indentured servants. As stereotypes goes, they came from Irish or Scottish stock and hence loves a good fight. These are the rednecks. Well, they served their time in order to pay for their drinking debt back in England. So, who's gonna pick the cotton in the hot sun in the South when the good ol' boys are out drinking and fighting with each other? Well, we got something better than the rednecks. Slaves.

Next thing you know, we had a civil war. The South lost fair and square. But the South never forgave them high falluting Yankees. Hence, the rift to this day.

What's my point? None. I grew up not quite in the deep South, but close enough to see that rednecks make friends by fighting each other. In fact, the friends I had growing up were the ones I kicked the crap out of. That's how you gained respect. So I apologize to all you southerners as I took Fd3boost post to imply that he wanted to kick my *** so that we can all be friends.

2: Don't have a 7 yet, I drive a C4(wish it was a ZR1)
3: I get laid plenty, thank you very much.

And the life of an English ajor isn't boring at all.

Enough about me, let the flaming continue

Impress me with your mind; seduce me with your words but never forget that the fists are for fools and diplomats.

If you're stupid enough to get angry over this thread, you're too stupid for me to deal with. If I interpreted your post incorrect, please accept my apologies and ignore the above.

Your quite the word smith there poman but my intent was direct I thought. My fists were never part of the equasion.

As Gordon stated... my T-78 car did show 13.1 A/F as recorded by the TEC II when I was trying to capture a stumble that the tuning had at shifts. This was repeated several times and I still probably have the datalogs somewhere on a computer.

When my car was about to be tuned I tried to talk with Peter about what A/F he would tune my car to. He got very defensive and finally told me in the mid 12s or so (according to his A/F meter). I wanted it richer for safety... but again he got very defensive and basically said too bad... I'm tuning it... and that the people on the internet didn't know what they were talking about.

I mentioned the standard 11.2 A/F that most people say is a good safe value. He said that it was too rich and I should basically stick to what I knew (which wasn't tuning... no argument there) and let him do what he knew (tuning) and ignore what was said on the internet. So I did.

To his credit my motor never let go... but I usually ran some 100 octane fuel just to be safe. From what I've heard my old car is still running well... but I don't know that from personal info.

However I also did have a "popping" sound in third gear one time. The car died and would not re-fire. A new set of plugs fixed it... I looked at the old plug which was bad and it looked like a small particle was welded to the electrode that none of the other used (or new) plugs had. My simple minded approach is that things got REAL hot in order for that to happen... maybe a ping too... who knows.

I can also tell you that knowing that the TEC was recording 13s A/Fs did NOT give me a warm and fuzzy feeling. I'm not sure how good of an O2 sensor was installed because I honestly don't remember.... maybe it really WAS richer than the TEC saw.... Peter had a lot of faith in his A/F meter that he used to tune. What it was actually tuned to I don't know.

I really got frustrated over all the secrecy. I felt that it was my car (not to mention my $) and I should have some input.. or atleast a civil discussion explaining to me why my input was wrong. But that's not what I got.

Oh well... that's part of my RX-7 story. Maybe a glimpse into why I am so happy that I do NOT own this car anymore. It was a very stressful ordeal and that is NOT what I want out of a sports car. My moto... if it brings more stress to my life... I don't want it... period!

Good luck to you Rikki... I hope your car gets all straightened out.

Jim
