which do you prefer? Intakes..

I'm debating wether I should get the M2 cf intake box that comes with 2 k&n air filters, or the apex intake.. Which would be better in performance? I have stock twins but eventually upgrade to the M2 twins or J spec RZ twins. thanks alot.

I've had my M2 intake in for several weeks now and all I can say is it was an incredible improvement over the stock intake... the butt dyno gives it a big

The fit and finish were really good in my opinion too... I haven't weighed them yet, but I can say that the M2 is feather weight compared to stock also...

good luck finding one though, I think they're on backorder just about everywhere

M2 should give better performance because it's a Cold Air intake. Good luck getting them though, I've heard that ppl have been having a hard time getting them.
Rx7fashion makes a similar product - smaller, which would make it work better with aftermarket hoods by providing clearance that the M2 does not.

Go with the M2 its a cold air intake and makes a huge difference in performance. However, it does not work with a FMIC, but I would not recommend one of those to someone who does not drag race.

The Apexi may flow better but do you want a cold air intake or a hot air?

I have the M2 cf and would not go with any other intake. If you want to weigh it, be sure the scale is set to grams cause it's super light!

Tell me about it!!

Decided to wait on the M2 intake, on about 3 different waiting lists to get one. Love the look and the design is the best that I have seen for a true cold air intake replacement for the stock.

Broke my stock one changing out my DP and radiator. Heat made the plastic hose connections a little brittle and one broke off. Had to use some epoxy until someone gets one out there!!

Hopefully you M2 guys are out there watching!!! Waz up with the intakes?!?!? Got the green, missing the carbon fiber!!

But that is the way things are for most good RX7 parts. I am backordered on some Greddy pipes also.

I have the RX7fashion cold air box. its nearly identical to the M2, except it sits a little lower. I did find through my experiments that you need to modify the cold air boxes to get its full potential. I went to the drag strip alot and had a 106.2 to 107.X on my trap speed. this was with all my mods and the cold air box. I routed a rubber tube with a 7 inch round opening under my car and into the entrance of the air box. I now trap 3 -4 MPH higher.

I'm very happy with the box, its really nice and keeps the intake temps cool, but none of these boxes will get alot of air without modifying. (atleast thats my opinion).

If you guys do have a choice get the rx7fashion one. I have had the M2 aluminum, M2 CF, and Rx7fashion. The aluminum boxes were superior to the CF, no performancewise or anything, but in durability.

The CF box lets loose on some of the threading that you screw the allen screws into. It's VERY annoying to have a hole on the box, that you bought partially because of it's look. But since M2 no longer makes the aluminum version, I'd reccomend getting the rx7fashion box.

RX7Fashion makes a FMIC to work with these boxes as does TurboStreetFighter.
