what the topic says... i want to get a bov but dont know what one... anyone got a video or audio of both of them to compair?

HKS Got one on my car and I have both inserts (purple and gold) that give it a different pitch/sound and I prefer all 3 over GReddy....
Original insert is very loud sounds similar to GReddy
Gold is the same but a little quieter
Purple is just a whoosh but you can hear turbo flutter! ORGASMIC

hks is pretty high pitched, but not as shrill sounding as the videos and clips make it out to be...

Mine came with a purple insert, which they all come with, and it sounds like a whistle. Nothing like a Greddy.

They come with a silver insert that has 3 fins (as does the gold look at the HKS website)... The purple insert is open in the center where the fins would be so their is no whistle... Sounds like an atmospheric stock BOV but with turbo flutter

Silver is the highest pitch but the gold is close... The inserts can be found here on the HKS website

Ahh, I see. I just saw the purple diaphram, I guess I never looked at the inserts that closely.

No leaks here with the HKS either and I have run as much as 20 psi !!!!! As far as cheap I would say look around. I buy all my products thru a local shop in the Seattle area. You should be able to find it online for cheaper than at a shop or thru HKS.....

 

what parts are needed besides the actual bov as far as flanges etc

Here's what the purple insert looks like installed

 

Comes with silver which IS the high pitch and yes you will have your choice of steel or aluminum flanges or a BOV kit to integrate the BOV into the intake, as you can see above in my last post mine is in my IC piping
