say you get one of those ebay midpipe/downpipe combos and add them to your car...do you need to get an aftermarket ecu? My car is all stock and I found someone local selling them so I might buy it if I don't need an ECU upgrade.

Try a search. There's lots of info on this subject already out there.

If you buy a dp you should also buy an intake kit, but if you do have those 3 things i would buy an aftermarket ecu.

It all depends on wheter you spike and creep past 10 PSI. As long as you stay at or below 10 psi you canput whatever you want on the car. YES anything you want as long as you stay at or below 10PSI.Now a big port will of course not run so well on a stock ECU. But a DP,MP,CB,Intake,FMIC and i still ran stock ECU as boost never went above 10 psi...However!: I recommend getting a aftermarket ECU since you will quickly want to turn up the boost and do more mods. Then you will need it.

The 3 Mod rule is a load of crap as long as you keep it at or under 10 PSI!!!

Get a boost controller and that will help as well.

And ALL you dumbasses that just type search!! Don't bother even typing if you have nothing usefull to add, ****** stupid. Help out or shut the **** up.

^^damn, how harsh

but it goes like this

you help out every single person who asks a question that was answered 10 times a day will get people nowhere..then they'll just make more and more threads and never use the search button..its there for a reason..

you cant help out every person that makes a thread, they have to learn themselves or else no one will be using the search button..

so where are the other 9 threads like this today. It takes longer to tell someomne to search than it does to tell them the answer....if you know it. Now if you did not then go search!!

A little harsh, NO. When over half of the threads that come up are just people bitching back and forth. then one needs to just answer the question. **** if that is your rational. YOU better NEVER post a question on here as they have ALL been asked before. So i hope you search before i see another post from you or anyone for that matter. This is a forum, people ask questions, then others answer them. Sorryman, i am just sick of asses saying search instead of helping. Again "Help out or shut up" Maybe he should type"( Yes i searched") Like you do after every post and you would be willing to help out huh?

This would be a very dull and uneventfull forum if everyone searched. Again, because every question has been answered at one time or another over the years.

your point is strong and i agree with you 1000000000 percent however look at the title, how many times have you seen this a day? its a pretty easy answer, its not like theres different alternatives and its hard to search for each one..

and if you're directing the "never post a question thread" statement to me than i suggest searching my threads and see how clear it is that its no everyday thread..before i make a thread, i spend 20 minutes or more viewing 10+ threads on similar cases and i have not found a answer that fits my problems.

i agree with you though, you are correct however with threads like these, its best for the first post to be "search", then threads should be closed or replied no more..

well i am glad you agree with me that it was easier to answer than be a jackass and tell people to search

Already searched, hence my comment about him putting ( Yes, I searched) after his posts like you do

When I told him to search it was with the intent of him getting the most out of his question. There are so many direct and tangent answers to this and similar questions out there I thought it would not only enlighten him further, but it would save forum space and keep him from getting flamed

If that's not a helpful enthusiast I don't know what is.

Keep the boost at 10psi or lower and your fine. Also a ported wastegate will help. Ive been running a dp-mp-cb combo since Ive had the car, and nothing has blown. Then again I have a ported wastegate, so boost never sees above 10psi. On a cold night I would be scared about spikes
