I've driven my FD a few times in the rain. Here in Corpus we usually have flodding problems when we have a good down-pour. My FD is pretty low so I keep it in the garage when the forecast calls for rain. Plus I have a little problem with hydroplaining. Not a good feeling.

like what someone said earlier, as long as you stay off boost the fd should handle decent in the rain.
took the fd out one day after it rained, roads were still wet but it wasnt raining. and when boosting or when that second turbo kicks in i just fish tail.
my tires need replacing, i think tires make a big diff as well.

i just bought my rx7 a few weeks ago, and it started raining on the trip from the person i bought it from. bought it in temecula, and it was around 30mile drive. it was my first expreience ever driving an rx7 (rain OR shine). boy oh boy can that be a scary vehicle when it's wet
but what you all are saying is right, about staying off boost in the rain. i didnt know it at the begining of the ride (i.e. accelerating on an on ramp), but by the end, i most certainly did. when i was test driving it, it wasn't raining yet, and as i'm sure yall remember the first time youve sat in an FD, but i was straight grinning feeling that sucker go. so when we closed the deal, it started raining, and that onramp....hehhee... fish tail...thankfully I got home intact with my new car.
i even washed the car in the rain, to the stares of my neighbors...soaped and rinsed outside, dried in the garage. hehe...my fd, from my perspective, was born on a rainy day.

thats not paint....
LOL racerfoo... I need to do that to my car, F-K the rain. I will usually check the forecast. I only drive the 7 in the rain unless it is 100% necessary.
First I need to get the car back on the road though.

What crappy tires are you guys using that keep you from wanting to boost in the rain? My cheap Yokohama AVS ES110 tires only hydroplane at at high speeds after the water is over about 1/2", I can hit full boost throughout the gears and maintain control. Just have to pay attention to what you are doing around the corners. Snow can be done, I went 2 winters in Colorado with the FD as my only car, had some crappy Fulda tires. Didnt enjoy driving in the snow like that but I managed to not ever break anything.
I drove from Phoenix to Colorado Springs a couple weeks ago, rain and snow the whole way from Albuquerque into the Springs. I had to slow a bit for the slush accumulation over Raton Pass but everything else was an easy 85-90 in the rain.
I could drive the REPU when it rains, but the FD is much better in the wet stuff.

hell yes, i love driving in the rain when i wanna slide around but I would never grip race in the rain
once it rains, i never go above over 45mph on the highway
P.S. if you cant spin your tires in the rain, there is something seriously wrong with your car, even in 4th gear at about 60mph, i can spin my tires with just a bit too much throttle

BTW, while I have tracked my car in the rain, it's completely different from driving on public streets. The track is a controlled situation, where as most public roads have gravel, oil, sand, pot holes, etc all over the place.
I don't drive my car normally in the rain unless I'm caught in it.

After being down for a YEAR... I'd be happy to drive this POS in ANY weather..
One day you guys will regret not taking advantage of these cars.. You can only live so long. Drive the goddamn thing!
I have 4 cars and I'll park the Grand cherokee in the garage to take the FD out in the rain..
