Do I need a turbo rebuild if the low mileage twin turbos stored 6 yrs in ATF fluid?

I plan to replacethe engine soon. The orignal twins have 94K on them. I have low mileage (10K) twin that I bought six years ago and stored in a container with ATF fluid. Do I need to rebuild this mothballed turbos? And does rebuild in this case just means replacing any rubber seals in the turbos as opposed to a complete rebuild?

If there has been ATF on the seals the whole time, then I see no reason to rebuild. You should be ok, but don't take my word as law either.

what rubber seals in a turbo ? check the end play and the shaft play through the oil hole with a dial indicator. If you do not know how find someone to help you.It is simple to do correctly

I think you'll be alright but that thing is going to smoke like a **** for hours burning all the atf off

When I swapped motors I had to retap a few holes in the exhaust manifold and used copious amounts of machine oil in doing so. That sucker smoked for 30 mins at idle before it finally burnt off. I could only imagine what the turbos would do...
