Do I need a new radiator????

I tried searching for this but couldn't find an answer for my situation. My car is mildly modified. (Hoping to put down around 350 with a good tune..) and i am running the stock radiator. Since I've had the car it's been cold so I haven't really had to worry about it getting too hot yet but summer is comming up and I am possibly moving to Puerto Rico within the next year.

I do plan on some 1/4 mile track time but no autoXing in the near futer. Also the car needs to be able to stay cool on day to day driving.

I plan on adding water injection but I'm not sure how much this wil affect my overall engine temps.

Should I invest on an aftermarket radiator? Something like the Radiatorworld.com unit or one from rx7.com????

Thanks alot everyone!

Yes. The aftermarket radiator does very well with heatsoak conditions, which are most often seen in stop-and-go daily driving and the sudden heat dump of a drag race.

But I would be sure to complement that with a fan mod of some sort (manual fan switch, FC thermoswitch, or Miata thermoswitch).

The stock radiators end up splitting at the end tanks once they age and these cars are pretty old now. An aluminum is not fail proof, but is a better buy than a stock one.

An all metal (not aluminum) stock replacement is your best bet. Believe it or not, it cools better than an aluminum one.

Copper/brass dissipates heat better than aluminum. It's a scientific fact.

Yep...we (Brad, Kevin, Adrian and I) discovered that the hard way when testing SR20DET radiators. Check it out: http://home.satx.rr.com/nissanweb/RadTest/RadTest.htm

Yes they do, but then I've never had any cooling problems while tracking the car even in the South's sweltering July. So if you can find a good price on one go for it, but aluminum is fine. Anything with plastic though is not going on my car though.

The stock radiator does a very good job at cooling. The only reason why you should upgrade is:
