is this even a question? should i drop a 20b or not? hell yea you should!

you dont have to go all crazy and go single turbo right away, you can use the stock twins or go N/A and if you want to go big single later on you can. just don't cut any corners and you will end up with one hell of a car and your FD will be more valuable.

No A/C = Not a Street car.

why not keep it though? if is there and it works just leave it.. is not like you need to get rid of it in order for you to drop the 20b.

An n/a 20B would preferably have some way of implementing an auxiliary port and VDI setup like all the 89+ n/a rotary engines

+1

All that torque and broad spread of power in a good looking, light weight sports car, with great relaibility = instant classic.

There is no way a 20b ruins a car. I have a 500whp 13b-rew and I'd still give my middle nut for a 20b.

I get that people want to keep the car rotary, and 20b's sound cool, but aside from that if you're gonna swap there isn't one good reason to go 20b over lsx imo.

You're a joking right? I'll give you another reason.. re-sell value

If you do decide to sell your car eventually you will get a lot more money for a 20b swap over a lsx swap.

I will give you more reasons but i dont want to make this thread a rotary vs v8 thread..

And yet you see I can only think of one reason to put an LSX instead of a 20B; gas mileage. But hey that's why there is so many things that can be done to these cars because peoples opinions and tastes are so varied.

Gordon please my friend don't say such things. They want to make me take a Riegelsville roadtrip sooner than August Can't wait to see your car again.

Resell probably depends on how much you put into it in the first place. For example, if you spend $20,000 to put a 20B in, and resale the car at $24,000 OR spend $10,000 to put an LSX into the FD and resale the car at 19,000, which one is the better deal?

That being said, I dont know anything about what each cost. Just that "resale value" doesnt mean much unless you factor in what it cost to get that "resale value". I also know the LSx FD's seem to go in the high teens to mid 20's. 20B cars are rare enough to where I cant honestly say I know what they go for.

I would probably go N/A 20B if i had the funding to do it right. So i suggest you do if the funds are available.

I completely disagree, it's all in the application. I'd love to hear your reasoning, even if by pm.

Im not concerned about resale value at all. I don't really plan on ever selling my FD, and even if I do, that should have no bearing on what I want to do to enjoy it while I have it. Ive been down this LSx vs 20B idea in my head 1000 times. As I mentioned before, I even had most everything I need to swap in a LS1. At the end of the day I realized the N/A 20B would cost more, probably be slower, get worse gas mileage, more pain in the *** to work on, harder to source parts for if something breaks.. etc etc. But I also know that I would enjoy it more, and at the end of the day thats all that matters. I wouldnt knock anyone for a clean LSx swap, as I do still love them, but hearing a lumpy 2-rotor idle and then the scream at ~9k rpm will make it all worth it for me. Ive always kinda joked that Id like to build a slightly bigger elise, rather than a smaller corvette.
