dissapointing 1/4 mile times

well the best i did was a 13.558 at 102.95,
r/t .564
60' 2.141
330 5.797
1/8 8.809
mph 81.80
1000 11.304
i had my volks on i bet if i put my stock wheels on i would lower my times.

i had some 17 year old keep telling me rx7's are his dream cars. then he asks me to show him the rotors. i was like what you want me to break the enging down and show you. all his friends giggled in the back ground because of his bone head question. then he tells me he going to get a three rotor put in his car when he gets one. he said yea their like 700 hp stock. i just smiled and said thats is ausome.

I'am guessing your stock. Been reading about a bunch of people hitting 13.5's to 13.3's stock. Makes me think what was going through those magazine's heads. BTW nice times as you already know.

something isn't matching up right!!!

81mph pass!?!? in the 1/4 and you ran a 13.5???

If i'm right a 13.5 should get at least 90mph.

and on top of that an 81mph is something more like 15-16sec 1/4 mile times.

Sure your 60sec times aren't perfect, but something isn't adding up.

It's as if your car isn't making that much highend hp or something? what are your mods and boost??

81mph was at the 1/8th mile, and at the 1/4 he was at 102.95mph.

He is reading off the time slip. The "81 mph" is for the 1/8 mile.

I think that is just about right for downpipe and catback as the only power mods.

Those Numbers arent bad at all..

Don't take to much stock on stuff you see in Magazines.

Alot of people don't realize, that reading and Actually
Doing E/T's aren't as easy as it may seem. 70% of
FD3S's probably have never seen a 1/4track.

My Personal best is a 13.8 @104 mph..
with like a 2.3 60ft time and .660 reaction.
Sorry Don't feel like going upstairs and
finding my Time slips. But those are on 19"
rims.. and on a Hot Evening like 85+degree
night..

Looking to run 12's with stock rims and drag radials
and upping my boost to 14psi..

Goodluck

I guess I shouldn't get too upset about this since it seems to have developed into URBAN LEDGEND.

Stock cars DO NOT run 13.3-13.5. A couple of guys that are REALLY GOOD at launching cars at the strip ran those times ONCE.

Stock FDs will run 13.8-14.2 depending on a bunch of conditions. Car condition, track condition, outside temp, etc...

My 93 R1 with a DP, CB and Efini y-pipe ran a best of 13.598 @ 102.85 mph. '60 time was 2.005 sec.

Raising the '60 time to 2.2 sec the car turned a slowest of 13.9 @ 99 mph with the same mods. That is effectively the same time (best) it ran bone stock.

Your times and mods are nearly identical.

I've got stock twins, but PFS I/C and exhaust. Also have PFC and DP/MP. My best is a 12.75, but the conditions will probably never be that good again. Normally, I've been running bests of 13.3 or so with 2.0 60's.

I think your time is decent. We won't get the power we need up top unless we go BigSingle!!

I'm not sure what you mean what do I run? My post says a 93 R1 with DP, CB and efini y-pipe. Times are listed above.

Dragueur:

14.0 @ 101 is right in there with stock times, obviously your clutch wasn't slipping too bad. Why would you add an intake when your clutch is slipping? Like I said I ran a 13.9 @ 99.54 STOCK with a passenger right in the same ball park.

When splitting hairs over one MPH or so you have to look into the whole picture, outside temps (this alone can make a HUGE difference), car condition, track condition, etc...

Hey Jeff,

You ever gonna come up to Woodburn this year?

Last friday night drags, i ran 10 times in an hour and fifteen minutes! There was no one there! I was in the 90...butt it still was alot of fun.

This friday night, if its not to hot, and Woodburn is doing the friday night drags, i'm going to take out the FD. Last time i was out with the FD i ran a 12.8@107, (8?) then a 12.9@114....this time i'm going to run some race gas in it, and shoot for 15psi... I'm gonna' pull the pin on the grenade...and hope it does'nt go off in my hand.

Later, CJ
