Disabled my BAC valve fixed erratic idle

My idle has been at 1k-1.5k since january 04. engine idle probably averages at 1300rpm.

I read on this forum, don't remember where, that disabling the BAC helps the idle drop. Of course its job is to raise the idle under load, but will disabling it damage anything?

I have a PFC, set at stock idle settings. but idle is still at 1300-1500

It was actually not idling erratically for a few months until I re-initialized the PFC using my datalogit. Usually after doing so the idle will be erratic but within a couple of days it will stabilize and find its idle. Not this time. RPMs have been bouncing around for 2 weeks now.

So I yanked the BAC. Are there any ill effects to doing so?
Sure fixed my idle though. Its steady at 900rpm

Thanks for reading, any input will be greatly appreciated =o]

yea, i'm going to bring my thread back from the dead because I never really got an answer for it :P

also does the ECU use the BAC to control the idle settings made in datalogit/commander? If it does, I guess thats why adjustments made via datalogit on the idle settings isn't working for me......

Car may be harder to start, especially when cold. Raise the idle a bit with the adjustment screw and give it a little gas untill the idle stabilizes. Most likely you have a bad BAC.
