Vewwy vewwy interesting! No wonder the tranny actually holds up for awhile. Nobody's mentioned that before so I just assumed it only had one, integrated directly into the radiator, like 99% of every other slushbox on the road. Could still be bettered a tad by sticking an aftermarket unit in place of, or in line with, the radiator, but definitely not high on my priority list any longer. (synthetic ATF is though)

As for 400hp+, I know lots of people say it @ some point, but I'm really not in search of moar powa, haha. My goal is to keep it as reliable as possible & just tweak it a bit aesthetically, though as previously stated.. it will hopefully get a few tranny tweaks down the road that will likely have a positive effect on 1/4 mile times etc. (my first purchases/Banzai's ATX harness adapter & hood lifts currently on the way!) Oh yeah.. unfortunately there aren't any strips near me these days, but hopefully I'll find my way to one at some point & will report back here when I do. So do I have a "mildly modded" 7? I'm guessing so, since as far as I know, the only non bolt-on items are the 3mm apex's.. Also, to the link, will definitely check it out!

I'd call it a modded 7. "Mildly" would be just a couple bolt-ons. Since you have the fuel up grades, most of the bolt ons, gears/trans work, and a PFC, I think anyone will agree that it is no longer mild at anything

I've STILL got places bidding on transporting it from the previous owner to me too?! Oh well, they'll get the picture someday I guess. Now if I could just get the fawking "hand control mod", I'd be getting somewhere, literally, like to the gas station & tire shop before long, haha.

Oh wow, that's pretty cool. We're faar from having anything like that around here.. lately I'm just glad a couple of our pizza places will deliver till midnight now, haha. The 7's actually got "new" Toyo's on it all around, though I've not actually checked tread-depth & am just speculating the rears are gonna wear out a little faster than I'm used to.

Likely very little if so, but it's been awhile since I've checked into similar setups and/or questioned insurance about it.. thx for the link, something to look into again.

So it took until like a week and a half ago, but I FINALLY got my hand controls installed. Unfortunately what I thought was a bad battery, is actually a (really) bad alternator, so I'm now in the process of getting that taken care of..
In the meantime (via RX8Club), I ran into some more cool **** I'll likely never have/is probably well out of my price-range. These guys are Aussie based & have what looks to be a killer, gimp-friendly manual setup, among other things:

http://www.pmeautoconversions.com.au...ctronic-clutch

http://www.pmeautoconversions.com.au...celerator-ring (from my understanding it can do throttle and brake, unlike the Kempf ring)

I'm awaiting responses from both companies, in regards to the possibility of adapting their goodies to any of my cars etc.

Talking

An update for those who didn't catch it elsewhere.. my alternator was so far gone that it couldn't keep up (with anything) & was causing a pretty major miss, as well as the Hold/OD button to malfunction, rough idle etc. Finally got'r replaced this weekend & she runs like a beast!! (haven't tried track mode yet/15psi) Now I gotta fix the gauge cluster, that way at least I'll have an idea how nasty my next ticket's gonna be, haha.
