Its not that bad. Now while you have it out...Relocate it so you dont have to tear apart half your motor to get to it...When you do it again...Yes i said again...

The car runs great. No difference in lag or whatever. I get a perfect 12-10-12. It comes on right when it should etc. Under the UIM is just really clean now. Theres just a few Vac. lines that go here and there, the fuel lines, rails, etc. Its just nice to get the solenoids (which are prone to heat) out from their sauna. I just lengthened the hoses, and cut the connections for the solenoids and lengthened them and soldered them in. It just took me a saturday pretty much. With the battery cover on you cant tell its not stock pretty much.

I would post more pictures but my digital camera just went to ****...Sorry.

For me, the biggest problem was figuring out how to disconnect the Fuel Rail from the Rat's Nest Bracket. The screw that's marked in the photo is a real PITA to unscrew. The way I accomplished it was by using a 1/4" drive ratchet with a 1/4" socket and a phillips screw tip. Taking off the fuel lines also gave me enough clearance behind the bracket to get to the Screw. The front screw(s) are easily accessible once the Alternator is removed.

If you can't get the rear fuel rail/bracket screw out, you have to disconnect all the fuel lines that run in that rail in order for the Rat's Nest to come out freely.

Nice... well done!!! I already got under the UIM 2wice this month... another thing for me to do, but maybe later on.... i already eliminated the FPD and got 2 new Primarry injectors and injector rings for the secondary. Now i'm thinking about doing that..(relocating the lines)..

Note the one way check valve that's on backwards. I wonder what effect this was having, if any, regarding boost issues. I never really noticed any in the 3 years of ownership?

I think that one is actually for the double throttle control. If it's backwards, the DT won't work, which is no biggie.

FYI, the double throttle is another set of throttle plates that limit airflow while the engine is cold - it's basically insurance that you don't get full power until the car is warmed up.

Thanks Dale. This line plugs into one of the nipples (2 next to each other) thats located just under and at the rear of the UIM. The DT, at least according to all the diagrams I've seen, does not have a check valve.

The only reason I even had to mess with it was because I have a Primary Injector that started to leak so I have to remove them and send them out to RC Engineering. I decided to replace the vacuum hoses while the Nest is out.

...Just got back from trying to remove the electrical injector connections. I broke both tabs that clip and hold the electrical connection onto the Injectors. These connections (all of them!) are so brittle.

Now i'll probably have buy some JB Weld to secure the connnections on the injectors. (j/k)
