dimmer lights for guages

Have a quick question here,

I am in the process of installing 2 guages in the speaker mount position, i was wondering if there is any problem with hooking up the parking/dim lights to the light that illuminates the cigarette lighter? any opinions will help.

thanks
Adam

I usually get power guages and uderdash neon etc. from the radio, it give you easy access to anything you might need, constant 12v, switched 12v and dash lights.

I use the light in the ashtray, the wires are easy access.

The only reason Im not using the ash tray light or the head unit wires is because the wiring harness that i recieved with my guages is not that long and I really would like to stay away from extending the wires.
