airpump removed , belt size?
Hi
I just removed my airpump and was wondering if anyone could tell me the belt size I now need to get?
We cant really get any aftermarket ( greddy) stuff here just to replace so I have to go to the local auto-shop and get one. Just need to know the size

The right belt size is 300k5, but it's nearly impossible to find a 5 rib that size. Some go 295k5, some go 300k4. I went 300k4 (4 rib), worked for me until I changed up the the ebay knock-off of the greddy pulley kit (which is nice because the underdrive pulley on the water pump increases contact with the belt which is minimal with the stock pulley).

Correct. Without the air pump in place the water pump pulley does not get enough belt contact and will slip. You shouldn't be able to turn the pulley by hand with the belt properly tensioned (or it should be difficult to move much if you have strong grip). Running only a 4 rib belt yields even less belt contact. The ebay copies work fine. The benefit is they are less expensive and available in several color choices. You main cat will also eventually die without the air pump and unless you have a programmable computer, your idle may be lumpy.
