Dimesions of a 3rd gen.

Hey guys, somewhat of an oddball question here but I am building a tube chassis datsun 1200 that will incorporate the third gen. suspension but before I start chopping and measuring I was wondering if anyone knows/or has access to the engineering drawings. I thought I'd ask and see if someone has them before I do it all myself..

Any help in this regard is appreciated and I would definetly be willing to pay for a copy of the drawings for sure. pm me or leave a note if you have something that may help..

Thanks guys, and yes it is kind of lazy but it's 250 if I take a day off work ya know!!

I don't think you'll find anything of the sort. If you're lucky someone has done detailed measurements of the stock suspension and they might share them.

The Mazda collision repair diagram has some measurements for the front of the car (including mounting points for dampers). It can be found in the Tech Manuals sticky thread, at the top of this forum.

Try asking on nopistons.com. Lynn E. Hanover has a tube chassis 3rd gen and might share some info. Good luck.

you could also check a body shop with a frame machine(rack). if they do not have the books with the measuremens i now some places can get full frame and suspension numbers by fax. body shops need the numbers if they have to straighten out a twisted one....they may hook you up with that info for a few bucks. or make copies out of there books.
