digital gauges in head unit

anyone know if it is possible to get a pop up head unit (stereo piece) to display guages - sorta like the skyline? I think this would be a uber cool way to add a boost gauge etc. anyone know if this is even possible, or has it been done before?

I don't know about the pop-up part, but there are gauge pods that fit in the center speaker location and adaptors that fit into the DIN stereo location.

yeah, I know about those places for mounting gagues. I was just wondering if anyone had integrated them into a slide out deck. that would be really, really cool... and look stealty cause you wouldn't have any visible gauges...

Node,

Interesting. But I didn't see anything about gauges that I'd need/want. I saw that an add on boost gauge (and others) was available, but it doesn't say what others. You've piqued my interest, and for $395 you get what amounts to a built in trip computer also. Not bad. I *need* more info.

Node - that is almost exactly what I am talking about. converting your pop-up stereo screen to run gauges. that would be really cool, and allow you to maintain a stealty looking interior w/o adding any gauge pods. has anyone seen this done before? I know i need to add boost gauge, and probably a temp gauge, but I really don't like the a-piller pod look....
