Different speedsensors

I have a type-rz but ive changed the gearbox to one from an type-r.
And the rz have the 4.3 diff, Will my speedo be wrong now? Im guessing the speed sensor should be different betwen the 2 ? Or?

Search, I have a thread on calibrating the stock speedometer. I don't think the speed sensors are different, I think Mazda just used a different speedo calibration.

It's SO much easier to do a speedo calibration than to try fooling with finding some special speed sensor.

Speed sensor out of the RZ will have a purple gear, should be easy enough to swap, only one 10mm nut to undo.

Easy, but good luck finding one. Dale's recalibartion of the meter is easier and more accurate, plus accoumodates special tires sizes you want.

Umm, unless misunderstanding, he has two boxes one with the 4.1 23 tooth gear, another with the 4.3, 24 on hand. Seems easier to me undoing a fastener and a connector than dicking around with the perils of the cluster plastics.

Yes I have both gearboxes and then all I need to do is to swap the sensors right?

Yep, that's all Mazda did.

If you're worried about the mating gear inside the box, a typical gear cutter for this size covers 21~25 teeth, without meshing problems....although they undoubtedly hobbed these ones.......in a blink of the eye probably!
